Experimentation of medias such as photography and ceramics have allowed for a deeper understanding of art as process. The themes present in Karissa Miller's work is self exploration, perception of the world and how relationships, both in nature and with humans, influence our perception of well being.

Before explorations into other medias of art, acrylic painting was the primary focus. These paintings span from 1998 to 2013 and reflect a passion for color, people, abstract landscapes and spirituality.
